Murals at Ping Tom Memorial Park

The 18th Street Bridge crosses the middle of the Ping Tom Memorial Park. The underpass, typically bare and occasionally tagged with graffiti, has been an eye sore compared to the rest of the beauty found in the park. For many years, the Ping Tom Park Advisory Council wanted to address this issue. Through funding that the Coalition for a Better Chinese American Community received through the Chicago Community Trust and the Metropolitan Planning Council’s “Our Great Rivers Initiative,” the PAC and CBCAC jointly commissioned murals.

In 2018, “All As One” by artists Andy Bellamo, Chester Chow and Anna Murphy was installed.

In 2019, “Between The Mountains And The Water” and “Be Like Water” murals by artist Anna Murphy were installed.
